SOILL is gathering feedback from the 2026 applicants on their experiences applying to the Living Lab topics in the EU Mission "A Soil Deal for Europe".

On 7–8 September 2026, the University of Coimbra in Portugal hosted the "Soils for Europe: Healthy Soils for a Sustainable Future" conference, where SOILL actively contributed to the dialogue.

On 30 June 2026, SOILL attended the first Mission Soil Investment Forum in Brussels, which brought together key stakeholders to explore innovative business models, financing mechanisms and partnerships supporting healthy and resilient soils across Europe.

Having launched Working Groups on Living Lab Foundations & Governance and Stakeholder Engagement in Living Labs, SOILL completes its Working Group series with a community dedicated to Soil Biodiversity.

Following the launch of its Working Group on Living Lab Foundations & Governance, SOILL continues to strengthen its Soil Community with a second Working Group dedicated to Stakeholder Engagement in Living Labs.

SOILL has launched a new Working Group dedicated to strengthening Living Lab Foundation & Governance across Europe. Designed primarily for Mission Soil Living Labs, it also welcomes participation from European Soil Living Labs, Emerging Living Lab initiatives, and other key stakeholder groups committed to soil health.

From 19–21 May 2026, SOILL attended the "Water Resilience in Agriculture: Innovation in Practice" conference in Hamburg, Germany, noting an inspiring cross-disciplinary interest in healthy soils and broader climate adaptation.

As part of our ongoing "Women in Soil Science" SOILL series, we are pleased to feature Carmen Asensio Sánchez-Manzanera, Senior Researcher and Living Lab Manager of the IBERSOILL Living Lab within the Horizon Europe LILAS4SOILS project.
