Are you interested in how organic and agroecological farming practices can contribute to healthy soils across Europe? Are you part of a living lab testing and demonstrating solutions on the ground or considering becoming one and more precisely a Mission Soil Living Lab? Join us in Brussels for an information and brokerage event dedicated to exploring the opportunities available through the upcoming 2025 Horizon Europe Mission Soil funding calls.
This event is organised by IFOAM Organics Europe, FiBL Europe, in the framework of the SOILL-Startup project and is designed for organisations looking to engage in or support Living Labs as collaborative platforms for sustainable soil management.
There is growing recognition among stakeholders across the food system — from farmers to policymakers — that holistic, nature-based approaches are urgently needed to transition toward sustainable agriculture. Organic and agroecological practices, including regenerative methods, provide proven frameworks for this transformation. By including organic experts in Horizon Europe Mission Soil consortia, applicants can strengthen their proposals both in technical merit and alignment with sustainability goals.
The event will introduce the Mission Soil programme and the SOILL-Startup project, followed by thematic sessions on soil management practices in organic and agroecological farming. Attendees will gain insight into how these systems contribute directly to soil health and sustainability outcomes. A key feature of the event is a matchmaking and brokerage session focused on the 2025 funding topics, providing participants the opportunity to connect with potential project partners. In addition, a panel discussion featuring current Mission Soil Living Labs leaders will offer valuable lessons and best practices from on-the-ground experience.
While the event is especially relevant for those involved in organic and agroecological approaches, it is open to anyone committed to sustainable, nature-based farming and soil health.
The event will take place at The Organic House, the headquarters of IFOAM Organics Europe in Brussels. The full agenda will be published soon.
